Thames Valley Police has charged a man with a burglary and theft in the Newbury area.

Robert Cook, aged 29 from St Johns Road, Newbury has been charged with one count of burglary and one count of theft.

The charges relate to a burglary on Thursday 12th August in Northcroft Lane, Newbury, where £40 was stolen from a property, and a theft from Homebase, Pinchington Lane, on Thursday 12th August when a vacuum cleaner was stolen from the store.

Cook has been bailed to attend West Berkshire Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 24 August.
