Thames Valley Police shut down a cannabis factory in Newbury on Monday 16th August after receiving information that there was a high usage of electricity coming from the address.
Police executed a warrant at 9am in The Firs, Newbury and on entering, officers discovered approximately 500 plants at various stages of growth inside the property.
A 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of production of a class B drug and is currently being held in police custody.
Sgt Gareth Jones from Newbury police station said: “The cultivation, dealing and using of drugs of any sort will not be tolerated and we will do everything in our power to stamp it out.”
“It is important that landlords do checks on the tenants they are renting out their property to and that they have the relevant insurance to cover them in the case of such events.
