Thames Valley Police has arrested two men after an incident in Newtown Road, Newbury, last night 17th August.

At around 11.20pm police received a report from a member of the public stating that they had heard a noise and seen two men running away from the area.

Police attended and searched the area, arresting two men on suspicion of going equipped to commit crime.

A 37-year-old man from Newbury and a 20-year-old man from Purley-on- Thames are currently being held in police custody.

What I wonder is why undesirables always ask for 50p for a cup of tea. When I can't think of anywhere in town that will sell you one for less than a pound?

It depends on a couple of things ... what one means by a cup of tea and how many people one finds that are willing to support one on such a venture!

It was £1 for a phone call on Sunday. This particular chap was actually stopped by the police in a car but allowed to carry on with his anti-social behaviour. He only asked women for cash incidentally.
