West Berkshire Council and Veolia Environmental Services are reminding residents that there will be no waste collections on Bank Holiday Monday, so all waste collections will be one day later until the end of the week.

Normal collection day          Revised collection day
Monday 30 August     will be collected on     Tuesday 31 August (one day later)
Tuesday 31 August     will be collected on     Wednesday 1 September (one day later)
Wednesday 1 September     will be collected on     Thursday 2 September (one day later)
Thursday 2 September     will be collected on     Friday 3 September (one day later)
Friday 3 September     will be collected on     Saturday 4 September (one day later)

Hilary Cole, West Berkshire Executive Councillor for the Environment, said: “Instead of storing your waste until a double collection a week or a fortnight later, these changes to the schedule makes it easier to manage your waste at home.”
Tracey Reilly, General Manager for Veolia in West Berkshire, said: “Whether it’s your waste or recycling week, give your bin a holiday for a day this week.”
Information about collection schedules is available on the Veolia Environmental Services and West Berkshire Council websites and bin hangers have been delivered to properties throughout the district.

Thank God they've then gone and listed the dates one by one...... we'd never have been able to work out what 'one day later' meant otherwise.

There will be people that couldn't work it out.

Perhaps it's because they're generally patronised, and treated like idiots and never encouraged to think for themselves. Maybe that's what this Council wants though.

Still, as long as they're at home puzzling over the expression 'one day later' they're not driving into the bollards.

Of course.....WBC might just be judging us by their own (WBC) standards.
