Beating the Bounds of Newbury by Bike
Sunday 19 September 2010

The Mayor of Newbury, Cllr Ian Grose, is inviting cyclists of all ages to accompany him for a 14 mile leisurely ride around the boundary of Newbury.  The bike ride commences at 2 pm at the Plough on the Green, led by Mr Mayor and members of West Berkshire SPOKES.  The ride will follow an all-road route, keeping as close to the parish boundary as possible, taking in many sights of interest along the way.  The ride will finish at the Plough on the Green around 5 pm, where refreshments will be provided for participants.

Mayor of Newbury, Councillor Ian Grose, said, “This is a family event, suitable for all ages, and I look forward to seeing a number of family groups joining in.”  There is no charge for participation however a £1 charitable donation to the Mayor’s Benevolent Fund would be very welcome.  This charity helps those in desperate need in our community and funds the Mayor’s Drive & Tea Party for the Over 75s.
