Housing estate gets extra help
01th June 2004 17.47pm

RESIDENTS of two Newbury housing estates have the chance to bend the ear of local police.

A weekly meeting between Pigeons Farm residents with beat constables and Sovereign Housing officers has been arranged, after enjoying similar success on the nearby Nightingales estate.

Both estates have been plagued by yobs, forcing police to increase patrols and calm fears.

Local beat officer PC Michelle Norman said: “We want people to drop in and tell us about any issues or problems they think we should be addressing”.

The meetings take place on Tuesdays, 2-4pm, at St Mary’s church hall, Greenham.
