Monday 5th July sees the return of Roadworks to Newbury Town Centre, this time on the section of Newtown Road which links to St John's Roundabout. The scheme will also include work in Argyle Road to make it one way in a southerly direction.
The work will last 16 weeks, and will involve the installation of temporary 3 way traffic signals at the junction with Pound Street. This section of Newtown Road will also be closed for several weekends to enable resurfacing work to take place.
This key road is a popular parking place for shop staff/commuters that have been displaced from other parts of the town. Parking there will be banned for the duration of the construction work. |
