Market Place Mayhem
13th July 2004 02.06am

The Newbury Comedy Festival got off to a flying start on Sunday with a selection of comedy street theatre in the Market Place.

A 30ft pink pig created a lot of interest when every 15 minutes a farmhand offered ten people the opportunity to don piglets tails and find out what happening in the belly of the pig.

A battered 2CV literally brought the traffic to a standstill with the antics of 2 Frenchmen on their European tour.

These were just two of the acts which enthralled shoppers and visitors to the town on Sunday afternoon.
