Its official! The notorious Festival of Light and Life that was scheduled to take place in fields at Enborne over the August Bank Holiday weekend has been cancelled.
The cancellation was announced by West Berkshire District Council this afternoon following prolonged negotiations with the organisers.
The actual reason for the cancellation has not been revealed. Local residents are now breathing a sigh of relief that they won't have to endure the anti social behaviour associated with the last festival held in 2001.
If the festival had gone ahead it would have stretched the resources of the Thames Valley Police who have the Reading Festival the same weekend.
