Nautical weekend in sight
18th July 2004 15.53pm

July 25th promises to be a day to remember in the local boating calendar, as craft of all shapes and sizes assemble on the Kennet and Avon Canal adjacent to Newbury's Victoria Park.

As well as the boats, there will be a line dancing display, folk music and other entertainment including children's fairground rides, children's train rides and a pony and trap. The motor barge Avon will be giving one hour trips throughout the day.

For the more adventurous visitor, you will have the opportunity to try canoeing. Not forgetting the popular duck race and the children's treasure trail. There will be a barbecue selling burgers, hot dogs and cold drinks.

Further details from the Stone Building on Newbury Wharf or the Festival Manager, Mike Elwell Tel: 01635 569647.
