Newbury College A Level Results up on last year

A2 and AS students at Newbury College were celebrating today at the Monks Lane campus after getting their AS and A2 results.

There were 132 entries for A Levels with particular success in Art, English Language, Film, Photography, Psychology and Sociology all of which had a 100% pass rate. For those who studied their A Levels by Distance Learning, there was a 100% pass rates in Business and Physics.

There were 173 AS level candidates with English Language, English Literature and Film all receiving 100% rates.

Dr Anne Murdoch, College Principal said "We are really pleased with the hard work the students put in and this is reflected in the results which are up 5% from last year to a 95% pass rate at A2 Level. The results indicate a year-on-year improvement at the College which we are extremely proud of, my congratulations go out to all the students".

AS Biology student Claire Asher, who gained an A in Biology said "I'm really delighted with my results, I also got an A in English, and 2 B's in Sociology and ICT. I plan to do Biology, English and Sociology A2 at Newbury College next year".

The College is running drop in exam advice clinics, On Friday 20th and Monday 23rd August from 11am to 4pm at the Monks Lane site and at other times by appointment. To find out more about the options for you please call student service on 01635 845000.
