Vodafone Bus crashes on London Road
27th August 2004 21.12pm

Residents of Sheridan Court had a lucky escape this afternoon when a Vodafone bus careered across their forecourt after smashing through a fence and demolishing a tree. The bus ended up in amongst the builders materials in the yard of D & J Cole.

A Ford Fiesta was also involved in the collision and the driver was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving. No one was seriously injured in the incident, although the bus driver did sustain cuts to his face.

The bus was one of a special fleet owned by Vodafone, but operated by Newbury Buses.

When the vehicle was recovered, a motorcycle was discovered under the debris. Fortunately the owner was not riding it at the time of the accident. It had been parked on the forecourt of the flats.
