| What should we keep today to represent our lives to future generations? To mark Newbury Museum’s centenary celebrations, staff are asking local people to lend or give a personal item which represents the new millennium in the town.
The Museum opened in the Cloth Hall in 1904, and today stores 200,000 objects, each one explaining an aspect of history.
Three curators, Harold Peake, Herbert Coghlan and Tony Higgott served a combined 85 years on the Wharf, and have become part of the town’s history as a result.
A special exhibition called “The Story So Far” runs until January 18, and entry is still free, as it always has been. |
