Blanket coverage
03rd November 2004 08.08am

Newbury Fire Brigade will be testing electric blankets for free at the station on the Robin Hood roundabout on November 10. If an electric blanket is found to be faulty or unsafe, the owner will be offered a 50% off voucher from Winterwarm, to put towards the purchase of a new electric blanket.

Assistant Divisional Officer at Royal Berkshire Fire & Rescue Service, Peter Boardman, said: “As winter draws in, more people will be taking out their electric blankets from storage. It is very important to ensure they are safe and in proper working order, as a faulty blanket can be a fire hazard. By working in partnership with West Berkshire Council, we aim to provide a valuable service for local residents.”
