Tsunami ruins dream wedding.
28th December 2004 8.16am

Newbury man Rob Green has told how plans for his daughters dream wedding are in tatters following the disaster in the Indian Ocean.

His daughter Anna, (26) and her fiance Simon Miles, (32) from Swindon, were due to be married yesterday (27th December). They were lucky to be alive following the tidal wave which destroyed their luxury beachside hotel in Ahungalla.

Mr Green (58) had received a text message from his daughter on Boxing Day confirming that they were unhurt. They have now been moved to another hotel.

"It was her dream to get married on the beach. Obviously the wedding has now been cancelled because it is chaos out there."

Several other local holidaymakers are believed to be caught up in the disaster which has claimed the lives of nearly 30,000 people.
