| Weekend Drink-drive arrests
Three men will appear in Newbury’s court next Thursday to face drink drive charges from a police operation in town at the weekend.
Penwood man Anthony Kearney, aged 38, was pulled up by police on London Road in the early hours of Saturday, and charged with drink-driving, and driving without the proper insurance.
At around the same time, officers pulled over a car at Venom nightclub, Thatcham, and charged 21-year-old Jason Pullen, of Celandine Road, Reading, with drink-driving.
Elsewhere, Phillip Gray, 49, was charged with drink-driving when pulled up on the Robin Hood roundabout in the early hours of Saturday. He lives at Avon Avenue, Ringwood.
Immigrant swoop
Four more suspected illegal immigrants were found at the Tandoori Indian restaurant in Pangbourne. The raid followed the arrest of five Chinese workers at Thatcham’s Szechuan restaurant last week. Separately, a 43-year-old man was charged with illegal entry into Britain at Membury Services on Saturday. All have been handed over to HM Immigration Services.
Newbury assault charges
A READING man will be in Newbury court next week to face charges of assault and criminal damage. Anthony Williams, 18, of St George’s Road, was arrested at Northcroft Leisure Centre last Friday.
Alan Breen, 27, of Newtown Road, Newbury, was charged with assault after being arrested at his home on Sunday morning. Breen will appear before West Berks magistrates next Thursday. |
