New cafe for Newbury
01st March 2005 11.01am

Caffe Nero will open in Bartholomew Street in a few weeks’ time, after the Kennet Centre tied up a deal with the London-based coffee chain.

Moving in next to the new Laura Ashley soft furnishings outlet in Bartholomew Street, Caffe Nero will soon be staffing up ready for a spring opening.

The move comes six months after American giant Starbucks proved a hit with Newbury shoppers, and is the latest of more than 200 Nero outlets nationwide.

Centre manager Mag Williams said: “These are very exciting times for Kennet Shopping. We just keep improving all the time and there’s still more to come.”

With Laura Ashley and Caffe Nero installed, talks are underway to let the last unit formed from the old TSB bank and Deep Pan Pizza branch. Whoever it is, readers can rely on Newbury.net to bring you the latest shops news first.
