More pub news for Newbury
17th June 2005 08.04am

ANOTHER Newbury pub is having a makeover. The Robin Hood Inn, which lent its name to Newbury’s busiest roundabout, has traded as a Harvester pub restaurant for years, but is about to change its name to Toby’s Carvery.

The revamp comprises a new patio area, a new entrance, and internal alterations, but the name is another brand of the pub owner Mitchells and Butler.

M&B also owns All Bar One and O’Neills, and was formed from the break-up of the old Bass empire. Both Harvester and Toby’s operate in the budget roast dinner market.

The news follows recent pub upgrades at the Queens Hotel in Market Place and at the Plough on the Green, and earlier in the week we reported that the Starting Gate at Speen, and the Lion were both getting a new look.
