Witness sought after Newbury theft
07th September 2005 8.30am

Police are urging a witness to a shed alarm theft to come forward. The alarm was stolen from B&Q in London Road, Newbury, at 10.15am on Monday

The thief left the store and ran through the car park, dropping the alarm as police gave chase.

He was spotted 20 minutes later walking towards Newbury town centre.

He is described as white, small and wearing a white flat cap.

A middle aged man gave the identity of the offender to store staff and police now need to contact that witness.

Investigating officer PC Martin Danks said: “I urgently need to speak to the customer who informed staff of the identity of the offender.”

Anyone with information that could assist police inquiries is urged to contact PC Danks at Newbury police station, via 0845 8 505 505.
