Market place consultation - Conservative Success
03rd October 2005 0.50am

The following press release has been received from Graham Jones, Leader of West Berkshire Council.

"The Market Square consultation has been a success, such a success in fact that the Lib Dems have joined us in supporting a similar consultation exercise for the Wharf.

One of our guiding principles when taking office was to have proper consultation not the take it or leave it "fait a complait" consultation practiced by the Lib Dems. The consultation will be used to guide the details of the proposal and the scheme will be the better for it. Proper consultation also confers a mandate on the development - somthing that was sadly lacking under the Lib Dems.

The Conservative administration is committed to proper consultation and engagement with the public"
