| The last few empty shops in Newbury are filling up fast, with news that a Cornish pasty shop is to take the former Costa Coffee outlet on the Town Bridge.
More than 15 shops have closed in the town centre this year alone amid the toughest trading conditions since the 1991 recession decimated Northbrook Street.
But nearly all have now been filled, with the successful £76,000 a year letting of the Costa Coffee unit, which has in the past been a bookshop and butchers.
The news comes as Ann Summers, Tchibo, Animal, Poundland, The Naseby Collection and Linen Direct all opened this year. |
