It is believed that the scheme has been in existence ever since the creation of the West Berkshire web site at http://www.westberks.gov.uk The council might have got away with it had it not been for the damage caused to the gatehouse during the Second Battle of Newbury. We trust that the good citizens of Newbury will oppose any planning application that would result in this dastardly scheme proceeding.
