More highrise offices on the way
11th January 2006 7.23am

A 70ft high office block is planned next to the A339 to provide a “balance” to the seven-storey tower expected to be built in Park Way. West Berkshire Council meets on Wednesday to decide whether to allow a new building for up to 300 office workers to go up in Kelvin Road, off Faraday Road.

The 300 workers will have to battle for just 150 parking spaces to go in where Newbury Salvage, and other local firms once operated. The council owns the land, and is also asking for £250,000 towards traffic improvements. Newbury Town Council is also backing the plans.
