Four year old thrown in the canal

A man has been arrested in connection with an incident in Newbury on Saturday (25/2) where a boy was thrown into the canal.

At around 9.45am, the 4-year-old was walking with a family member along the canal when he was thrown into the water.

He was taken to hospital and is now recovering at home with his family.

A man aged in his twenties was arrested on suspicion of GBH and has been detained under the mental health act.
