| We have been asked to include the following press release on our website:
'Thatcham residents, and others with an interest in the town, will have an opportunity to express their views and ideas about the future of Thatcham via a survey that's being published as part of a supplement to this weeks Newbury Advertiser. The supplement contains information about the project, emerging findings and ideas and the questionnaire itself. The second phase of the project starts in April and leads up to the publication of an action plan in the autumn.
Thatcham Vision is being led by Thatcham residents with the support of local councils and is one of a series of 'parish planning' exercises which is being conducted across West Berkshire. Sue Everett, chair of the Thatcham Vision steering committee explains that 'One of the main aims of the project is to involve people directly in improving Thatcham. As well as identifying actions which will need to be taken by local councils, we're currently scoping projects which will be run by volunteers from the community. The project provides a unique opportunity for people to get involved in a practical way in improving the town.'
A downloadable copy of the Thatcham Vision supplement is available from the project's website - http://www.thatchamshapethefuture.org.uk - where it's also possible to complete the online survey.' |
