| Newbury Carnival will be held on 2nd July, a dazzling feast of music, dance and colour.
This year the theme is ’80 Days around the World’, and organisers are hoping for in excess of 40 entries. Entries have already been received from Speenhamland School, John Rankin School, Pageant Fancy Dress, Reading Pipe and Drum Band, and the Royal County of Berkshire Show, among others. One of the exciting highlights will be traditional Hungarian dancers from Kiskunfeheleyghaza, Newbury’s Twin Town in Hungary, organised in association with Newbury Twin Town Association.
How to enter
It’s free to enter the Carnival and lorries can be hired on a ‘first come, first served’ basis from C and B Haulage and AJ Black Haulage.

Winners of each category receive a £100 First Prize and the overall Best Carnival Entry will receive a further £200 prize.
Victoria Park
There will be a full range of events in Victoria Park following the parade, including a funfair, trade and charity stalls, a range of musical performances in the bandstand, a tethered hot balloon, dancing displays, and children’s. Local groups wishing to have a stall should contact Mitch Roberts on 01635 37631.
