New look Chicago Rock Café for Newbury
08th May 2006 11.47am

The first new look Chicago Rock Café has been unveiled by parent company Luminar Leisure and will launch in Newbury in early June 2006.

Following £1 million investment, the former Seymours late night venue on Cheap Street, is set to become one of the most ‘stunning’ restaurant and bars in Berkshire and mark a total revolution to the Chicago Rock Café brand.

The contemporary interior design is among the best in the UK. Artist impressions reveal that inside the venue will offer fresh wide open spaces enhanced by suspended ‘mood’ lighting. Comfy and stylish furniture in subtle tones will give the feel and look of a trendy London restaurant or bar designed to create a relaxed and desirable atmosphere. The musical essence of the venue will still be predominant throughout with artistic montages of music legends featured on the walls together with iconic musical symbols. Giant plasma screens as well as a superior sound system will create a comfortable atmosphere during the day and transform the venue into a buzzing venue at night.

As well as a beautiful interior, Chicago Rock Café will also introduce an entirely new dining concept complete with a new menu. The all inclusive menu is packed with a selection of tempting and mouth watering foods, inspired by the wonderful variety and versatility of American dining. From 1 pound burgers to our one foot onion ring tower or Chicago’s Buffalo Chicken Wings to a New York Strip Sandwich, Chicago Rock Café has something for everyone as well as mountainous platters to share. 12” wraps filled with a wide selection of delicious ingredients; large oven baked dinner jackets; freshly prepared pastas and salads as well as the Chicago ‘house specialities’ are just a taster of what there is on offer.

As well as offering a fun and friendly atmosphere in the evening, Chicago Rock Café is widening its appeal to office workers wanting to escape the working environment, relax and try something different at lunchtime. The pre-order service will ensure that the customer’s food is with them within minutes of arrival so they can enjoy their meal in plenty of time during restricted lunch breaks.

Chicago Rock Café will open its doors from 11am so customers can pop in for coffee or an early lunch, meet with friends, arrange informal business meetings but ultimately go somewhere comfortable, stylish and friendly.

As well as great food, Chicago Rock Café, Newbury will provide top live music entertainment including personal appearances from celebrities such as X Factors Journey South, Chico, guest appearances from Leo Sayer and Tony Christie as well as cover and tribute bands to name but a few.

New general manager and Luminar Leisure’s manager of the Year, Claire White is delighted with the new concept for the venue, she said: “People will not be able to recognise the place. The new Chicagos will have something for everyone whether you fancy popping in for coffee or lunch or for an evening meal and drinks, this is going to be the place to be. The design of the venue is gorgeous and takes the name Chicago Rock Café to a new and improved level as well as the service, food and entertainment.”

Further information about the launch will be revealed shortly – watch this space.
