Newbury Town Council is delighted to announce that Parceline of Newbury have generously sponsored the Newbury Young People’s Council by donating money towards new pendants for the Junior Mayor and Deputy Junior Mayor. The pendants will be worn by the Junior Mayor and Deputy Junior Mayor whenever they attend official functions and help signify the importance of the Newbury Young People’s Council.
Ray Sneezum, General Manager of Parceline’s Newbury depot said “It is important that local businesses recognise the contribution of young people in the community and in the workplace. We also want to encourage youngsters to be more aware of how local businesses work and so we have invited the Young People’s Council to visit our depot to see how we operate.”
Gemma Legg, Junior Mayor said “We really appreciate Parceline’s contribution and their recognition of our good work. We work hard to represent the views of Newbury’s youth and are campaigning on a variety of issues, including the need to increase recycling, getting more equitable bus fares for those still at school and continued lobbying on a cinema for Newbury. We’ve also helped Newbury achieve its Fairtrade status”. |
