| Vodafone admitted losing 1300 UK customers a day to rival operators yesterday as city firms failed to oust chief executive Arun Sarin.
In the face of shareholders calling for more cash to be handed out in dividends, West Berkshire’s biggest employer has been forced to rein in sponsorship deals, axed nearly 1000 jobs, and sold out of the lucrative Japanese market.
In the three months to July, Vodafone UK lost 119000 customers as price wars intensified, but Mr Sarin managed to win the vote on his reappointment at the company AGM on Tuesday by 85%. |
