Vodafone bash at Blenheim Palace
18th June 2004 17.50pm

The Vodafone summer Ball always takes place at a prestigious venue, and this year is no exception. Blenheim Palace – birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill and home of the 11th Duke of Marlborough has been chosen this year to entertain 13,000 guests from all over the world.

All local Vodafone employees are being bussed to the event to enjoy an evenings entertainment which in previous years has included Robbie Williams and Westlife. Top of the bill this year is rumoured to be Elton John, but the rumours usually prove to be inaccurate.

Recent venues for the ball have included Newbury Racecourse (2002) and Highclere Castle (2003). Prior to that the event was held in London at Earls Court.

The event held at the racecourse in 2002 attracted a lot of complaints of noise from nearby residents. Obviously that problem will be avoided this year, although there may be a certain amount of disturbance as revellers disembark from their coaches in the early hours of Sunday morning.
