Newbury College Congratulates Students on Successful Results
Newbury College students are again celebrating their success in their A Level exams. The A-C results improved by 2% on the 2006 result, with 60% of A2 students achieving A-C grades.
Students in Sociology, Psychology and English Language achieved 100% pass rate in their A2 exams. Results for AS French and Pure Maths also saw 100% pass rate. A number of students are going on to the University of their choice including Southampton, Reading and Oxford Brookes.
One delighted student is Kelly Ackerman who opened her results to find out she’d not only got a double distinction for her BTEC National Certificate in Moving Image, but also gained 2 C grades for A Level Media and Film Studies. Kelly will be going on to study for a BA (Hons) degree in Media Studies at Southampton University. She said, “I am really pleased with my results and can’t wait to go to Southampton to start my degree.”
College Principal, Dr Anne Murdoch commented, “We are pleased with this year’s A Level results, even though the numbers sitting A Levels at the College is small, the results are a reflection of hard work on behalf of all the students and staff involved. Our congratulations go to all our successful students and their tutors.”
